NO, assuming you are not Japanese... There are several reasons why you don't want to buy a laptop in Japan. First, the price is very high and take into account the current exchange rate (yen 93 to 1 US $), it'll cost you even more. Second, to switch the operating system from Japanese to English will cost you about 200-300 US $. Third, The keyboard will have the same basic layout but some keys are different as well as the keyboard having Japanese on the keys. Buy your laptop in your home country and take it with you. II was in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam in January and it can be rough travelling so I would recommend a netbook like the Asus 1000HE ($385). You don't want to be carrying a big bulky laptop which costs a lot. Now, assuming you are Japanese (Based on your name), then YES, buy a computer in Japan. You can get a netbook for just 1 yen at any big electronics store like Yodobashi, Bic Camera, Best Denki etc. If you get a netbook for 1 yen you will have to sign up for (usually) a 2 year internet plan. What's good about the internet plan is that you get an adapter that plugs into your USB port and you can access the internet using the cellular phone network, anywhere and anytime (in Japan). Good luck

up to you but... I used to carry my laptop with me when I traveled. It's just a hassle that you don't really need. There are internet cafes every where in cambodia and most hotels provide free internet services as well. So why carry a brick around that can be stolen or damaged. You are going on vacation, I assume, Leave the BS behind and have a good time. You can always keep in touch but have the choice of being out of reach when the laptop is not with you 24/7
Answer 3 :
no, you will have problems with CD drivers or even the ventilation fans, as in Japan the Frequency of electric power is 60 Hertz and in Cambodia 50 Hertz. see you in Cambodia !
Answer 4 :
