How can I change the language for a laptop that is bought from japan to english.?
A friend of mine brought a laptop from Japan and he want to change the laptop's language from Japanese to English. It is very hard for me to configure it because aside from the Japanese language which I don't speak, it is still running on Windows ME which the settings are quite different. The laptop is a Toshiba Dynabook DB65C. I need help please.

U still using Windows ME? Did i hear u right? Just upgrade to XP SP3 or Vista, if it can run it.

There are no settings to change the language. Only way is to do a clean installation of English Windows ME or 98 on it.

There are 3 nos of language setting available 1) To change Keyboard language Go to control panel-Regional & language setting-Keyboard language (tab menu)-Click change keyboard-select English language-apply-ok 2) To change the way your computer display numbers, currency, date & time Go to control panel-Regional & language setting-Formats (tab menu)-Click current format (drop menu)-select English language-apply-ok 3) To change the OS language (Operating system) you have to re-install the Operating system in English language Insert Bootable OS disc into your cd/dvd drive-format (hard-disk)-install new OS-Select language English-follow the instruction-Complete the installation-Restart Now you laptop is English language
