Yeah, if you feel like being outdated by 10 years =)
Answer 2 :
Well it is ok to bring your laptop to japan but i have your laptop have built in wifi capability without the access of trying to secure a connection because that will be difficult. Another thing is that Japan uses a standard RJ-11 phone connnector. Its very hard to connect with American Laptops and i recommend that you go to your respective laptop company store in Japan to try to get a connection. More likely to have issues relating to finding an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and Phone line. This applies if you want some form of broadband service, e.g. ADSL, Fibre-optic. See other threads here on Yahoo BB. Also, most Japanese hardware purchased in Japan would require a system that can display Japanese characters, due to the software drivers. e.g. a portable printer. You do not mention your operating system (OS). I had a hard time when i went to japan and i didnt have connection what so ever but once you get around to a local wifi store you'll get it going

yes. Voltage will not be at issue - if you look closely at the power supply of your laptop, you'l see that it says 100-240V which covers the voltage available in Japan (100V) Wireless access, Internet access (direct cable), etc. should be fine As someone else though said in jest: you will feel that your laptop is outdated when you see some of the cool systems being sold/used in Japan but other than envy this should not limit your abilities to use your laptop!
Answer 4 :
Japan uses 100 volts, but your laptop should do most things with that. You should take an adapter for the plug, just to be prepared. Answer 5 :
Most laptops power boxes are fine. In fact if you look at your computer power adapter you will see it will say 100-240v on it. My dell laptop and gateway netbook both work fine in Japan. Note that Japan uses only two prong outlets, if your laptop has a three prong plug (you'll need to go to radioshack and get a 3prong to 2 plug adapter).
Answer 6 :
It is fine. You might need to bring/buy a universal converter that works in Japan
