Will a DVD from Japan play on a US DVD Player

Will a DVD from Japan play on a US DVD Player?
I wanted to get the Naruto Blood Prison movie when it came out on DVD in Japan. I know, it just came out in theaters and I know it won't be on DVD until like April or May 2012. So when it does come out on April or May 2012, would the Japanese DVD play on a US player? I also have a PS3 if that helps and a laptop.

No, it won't. DVDs are coded by region. If you try to play a DVD in a player that's designed to play a different region (e.g., you put a Japanese-region DVD in a North American-region DVD player) it won't work. However, if you put the DVD in your laptop, it should play. A window will open and prompt you to change the region on your video program. Go ahead and do that. If you go to watch one of your "normal" movies, it will prompt you to return the region to your original region. It depends on the computer, but sometimes there's a limit on how many times you can change the region (usually only 5 times). I have no idea if it will play in your PS3 or not. My guess would be...no. But it might
