I want to take my laptop to Japan

I want to take my laptop to Japan?
If I take laptop to Japan, how do I get internet? Do I have to buy international internet card here or something? I'm new with this thing... I'm staying at hotel and relative's house. palemoonmemory, "giggu maku..." that's so funny. We do say like that in Japanese :-D

NO!!! the japanese people will claim its theirs because they made it
Answer 2 :
Are you staying in hotels? You should check with your hotel to see if they offer internet access. If they do it will either be wireless, or you can borrow an ethernet cable from the front desk. You should be able to get on the internet just like you do at home, seeing as the internet doesn't conform to national barriers. I don't think there is such a thing as an international internet card.
Answer 3 :
you do need to by a Waylan card, its better that you don't take it so you're not lugging it. I'm going in July and I was planning on taking mine but there's so many internet cafes`.
Answer 4 :
you can take your laptop and use it japan to go online without any problem. we use the ethernet type of lan with the same connector and wifi. in case you wanna check your mailbox or something outside go to mcdonald's most of which open 24h and offer free wireless connection say "biggu makku setto wo kudasai. mochikaeri masen. koko de sutemasu" and hotels normally have internet connection probably you can steal a wireless connection or two so dont worry
Answer 5 :
Loads of wireless. Ginza subway. What kind of laptop? Might make a difference. Tokyo will be fine for hikkari fibre or wireless. Other places mostly have NTT Flets or Hikarri. So speed will not be an issue. (Do your really need 100mps?) Countryside is rougher. Here we only have ISDN at 56.6kps it was hell coming from my office in Tokyo at 100mps or home in Yokohama at 10mps. Hotels will have internet but ryokans or others will not. Out of the city places also not so much
