Answer 1 :
Popular in Japan are: Toshiba (Dynabook) Fujitsu (Biblo) Hitachi (Prius) Sony (Vaio) other popular firms are NEC,Dell,HP,Lenovo (IBM), some Acer,Asus,Panasonic,Onkyo and Sharp I don't see Samsung often and haven't seen any LG in Japan Panasonic and Sharp laptops are surpassing quality in my opinion.
Answer 2 :
What is your question? Which are the popular brand? OR Which is the best for YOUR needs? In general, Japanese brands are popular, and you hardly can buy anything from the US or Korea. The price ranges are about the same for all brands. Mac is another story. You have to choose, if you want windows or mac, it makes no sense to compare them this way.
Answer 3 :
Are you comfortable using Japanese Windows? All the time, for every error message that pops up? If not, get a Mac. The internationalization in OS X is light years ahead of Windows. Any mac can be turned from Japanese to English very simply, but doing the same with Windows involves re-installing your OS. As for Windows laptops, buy one in the country where you will be living, either the US or Japan, because things like warranties will be better that way. Sony Vaio seem pretty nice, popular and stylish. If I wasn't using a mac, I'd probably get one of those

Answer 1 :
Most laptops come with 100-240 AC adapters which is ok to be plugged into any Japanese power points - Just that you need to have an interchangeable adapter to be able to plug into their socket.
Answer 2 :
Japan's outlets are 100 volts. Check the AC/DC adapter on your power cord (the power pack lookin thing) to see if it falls in that range. Any laptop made in the last 5 years should be 100-240 volts so it should be ok. I'm using a Dell Inspiron 6000 in Japan right now and it works just fine. If you're from the U.S., you don't need an outlet adapter as the outlets are exactly the same. If your power cord has three prongs, you may need to get an adapter for the third (round) prong because many outlets in Japan are only two prongs. But you can find that at any electronics store in Japan or your home country.
Answer 3 :
You don't tell us where you're coming from. From the US you shouldn't need anything. From other countries you might need an adapter plug, or possibly a transformer if your computer doesn't have universal voltage.
Answer 4 :
But remember, there are no free WiFi network in Japan. Ppl don't even know the name WiFi (Ppl call it as wireless network)

Answer 1 :
Military pay must be at an all time low.
Answer 2 :
no. why should they get free laptops? thats a want, not a necessity. mast...- oh sure, i guess thats why they invented pen and paper.
Answer 3 :
Clash City you would want to talk to your Family and have some kind of access to the outside world if you were overseas too. Depending on what Branch he's in, I guess.. I know for sure that Army gives us Laptops or computers. ---------- I guess it's something that has to be experienced to be understood..
Answer 4 :
Did you mean a free lapdance?
Answer 5 :
there are plenty of Internet cafes in Japan where your relative can use a computer..
Answer 6 :
first of all. not that i know of. i never thought to ask when i was over there. if you want to help them out, ( and military pay was never nearly as high as it should be, and i was in before all these enlistment/re-enlistment bonuses ) buy them a laptop and send it to them or send them some cash and they can pick one up at the PX
Answer 7 :
I honestly don't know and I did look for some info. for you. I do know that Omaha Steaks sends a little packet with your order to turn in extra cell phones that are given free to soldiers in Iraq. That is the best I can do for you, sorry
