I had a friend in Japan who was able to pick up wireless signals everywhere he went. On that note if you're going to Japan to work for one of the Big 4 language schools avoid it like the plague

Ebay? http://www.ebay.com
Answer 2 :
Yes, because the after-care is great from most shops. I would recommend PC Depot. Price will depend on how old/new a model you want. The really old models (4-6 years old that still run Win98/2000/NT) can be around 50,000yen. Within the last two years, you are looking at close to 100,000yen. You might want to try Yahoo! Japan auction. Or, just buy new from Dell. They have the best prices for quality PCs

Where is cheaper to buy laptop and camera in Japan or US
Where is cheaper to buy laptop and camera in Japan or US?

Answer 1 :
It totally depends. By looking at the exchange rate, I'd say it's more even than most people think. But be aware of manufacturers. If a camera or laptop company makes their product specifically in the US, and plans to sell it overseas in Japan, it makes more sense to buy it in the US because when you purchase it in Japan, you secretly pay import fees, taxes, etc. The same can be said vice versa. Also look at brand names. If a particular brand is strong in a particular country over another, don't buy it because it's cheaper. Remember, you are getting a better build quality and paying extra is not necessarily bad. But for brands strong in both countries, such as Samsung or Sony, then it shouldn't matter as corporates still have to make the same amount of money regardless of country, so you're not saving much.
Answer 2 :
Hi It entirely depends on the brand and the company. I can say you get reasonable brands at US and it would be ideal to buy from there. You could visit the below mentioned site

Answer 1 :
You don't need a surge protector, but you will need a converter to go from the 3-prong plug to a 2-prong plug. Those are cheap, and you can find it at almost any electronics store in Japan, and in many stores in the USA, too.
Answer 2 :
You only need Surge Protection if your location has power-surges.. === I use Surge Protection.. But I look to limit power surges.. ..like my Sub-woofer.. And I discarded a coffee maker.. Should there be a power failure..I pull all my plugs from the wall.. Until I'm sure the power is running well.. === Also..I have read that a Surge Protector will contain the harmful effects of a power surge(the HEAT)..the fluctuation in AC Current will still reach your PC.. ..and if you know that a power surge has ocurred..you need to shut down and un-plug the Surge Protector to RESET--its capabilities..// [end]
Answer 3 :
Hey make sure the charger goes from 100V~### because Japan is 100Volts
