Are laptops in Japan available with English keyboards and windows

Are laptops in Japan available with English keyboards and windows...etc?
OK so I want to buy a Toshiba laptop. like a Satellite L675-S7048 (It is the 17.3" monitor model with i3 processor) USA Price is USD$699.99 or about NZD$945 I am in New Zealand where the same laptop sells for NZD$1450 or USD$1075 (Side note New Zealand has no import duties on electrical goods, so my best guess is it is a size of the market issue) So back to my question, my brother is going to Japan and I was wondering are the prices in Japan similar to those in USA or cheaper. because it is made there? Also would it be available there with an English keyboard? Please let me know any info if you know first hand.

Answer 1 :
laptops in japan (as far as i know) come w/English keys+windows but to type in jap you need to press a certain key before typing (so that means english should be fine) and windows... I think changing the default language shouldn't be too hard with a little online help

Trading old laptops in Japan

Trading old laptops in Japan?
I've been living in Japan for 2 months now, and I bought a laptop when I got here that I thought was okay. I want to play graphics-intensive games and unfortunately I didn't realize this laptop had an integrated graphics card when i bought it, as I was desperate for something at the time. I have obviously encountered problems opening lots and lots of games, and I'm wondering if there's any trading system set up in Japan where you can trade in an old Laptop to get a new Laptop a bit cheaper. There is nothing actually -wrong- with this laptop, except it isn't what I wanted and because of the language barrier I couldn't properly explain what I wanted. Any info would be greatly appreciated, or if anyone knows any other way I could possibly get a better laptop without just buying a new one and owning two. Thanks in advance!

I don't think there is trading system in Japan. But you can sell the old one at an used computer shop or online auctions to get money to buy a new one

Does someone know if Sony Vaio laptops are generally made in Japan or China

Answer 1 :
hmm, dunno. but most electronic devices are made in asian countires
Answer 2 :
Vaio is a Japanese company.
Answer 3 :
I dont know where theyre generally made, but mine says "Made in China".
Answer 4 :
Sony is a Japanese company. Certain components in their systems may be made in China, Korea or other Asian countries., but the main assembly takes place in Japan.
Answer 5 :
Sony build factories in many countries - China and USA are the main options I found for Playstation 2 a few years back. People here believe that the US version was better, but I got lumbered with the chinese one, for 20% less. It only lasted me four years until I sold it :P I'm totally confident that they wouldn't be stupid enough to ship the parts all the way to Japan and then build them and ship them all the way back.... it's cheaper to send a few Japanese bosses to manage the local workers. Where it's made doesn't count for much, it's the cost cutting affecting the quality control you need to worry about. Seagate make hard disks in Thailand - and they're excellent

Getting an American Sony laptop in Japan

Getting an American Sony laptop in Japan?
I'm currently living in Japan (Far, far, far from Tokyo, before you suggest any stores there) and I'd like to buy a certain Sony laptop. I don't want to buy a Japanese one, because I don't care for the keyboard and won't be doing anything remotely Japan-related after another year, so there's really no benefit. I was wondering if anyone knew of somewhere that will ship laptops from the states to Japan (the sony website won't). Thanks!
