Do I need an electrical plug adaptor for my American laptop in Japan?
I think the plugs are different. If so, where in Tokyo or at the airport should I buy a plug adaptor??

Answer 1 :
yes you can get them at the air port or before you leave you can get one at walmart
Answer 2 :
Yes!! Not only is the plug different the volts and amps are as well. Try a major eletronics store they should have it!!
Answer 3 :
No you do not need an adaptor. Most laptops accept 100 - 240 volts. The plug shape is the same as in the USA, so no adaptor needed.
Answer 4 :
Based on the attached international plug chart, it appears that Japan uses the same plug configuration as the US, and a slightly different voltage (100V 50Hz). Most laptops have a full 100-240V voltage input range, so you probably don't need anything. Look on your laptop plug transformer to be sure.
Answer 5 :
You can buy plug adapters in places like Best Buy. They shouldn't be that expensive. Look for one with two straight, even prongs, and check the packaging to make sure it lists Japan as a place where you can use the adapter
